Origins & terroir

The current catalog makes origin part of the lineup: matcha entries are listed from Shizuoka, Fukuoka, or as a blend, while the hojicha entry is listed from Kagoshima, Japan. These labels give you a clear way to compare the teas before you choose a flavor profile.

Matcha by origin

Aoi, Sora, and Genji are listed as Shizuoka, 1st Harvest. Their catalog notes move from Aoi's fresh greens and crisp finish, to Sora's floral notes and light cream, to Genji's sweet cream and meringue.

Yame is listed as Fukuoka, 1st Harvest, with butter, fresh cream, and steamed greens. Shin is a blended, 2nd Harvest matcha with toasted greens, grain sweetness, and a clean finish.

Hojicha from Kagoshima

Kokoro is the catalog's hojicha, listed as Kagoshima, Japan. Its notes are roasted nuts, cocoa, and mellow sweetness — a roasted direction distinct from the matcha entries.
